European Wine Resource, Inc. is a wine merchant specializing in importing, wholesale distribution, retail sales, and related services within the fine wine industry. The founders, drawing on collective experience in sourcing and managing rare wine portfolios since 1978, formally established the company in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2006. Through our partnership, this accumulation has grown into one of the largest collections of European wine in North America.

We invest an enormous effort to ensure the quality of our inventory. As licensed importers, the majority of our inventory is sourced in Europe and imported using refrigerated sea containers. We actively participate in La Place de Bordeaux and En Primeur campaigns, leveraging allocations secured through long-standing partnerships with négociants. We are members of the exclusive Liv-ex fine wine exchange, having joined in 2008, and work with a range of other international and domestic commercial partners to build our portfolio. We will occasionally source from private collections, storage clients, and previous customers.

Our purchases abroad are consolidated in Europe and transported to the United States in refrigerated containers by specialists in the beverage industry. We carefully inspect each parcel upon arrival and maintain our inventory in a state-of-the-art storage facility between 55-58 degrees with controlled humidity. Our warehouses are temperature-controlled with industrial refrigeration, supported by redundant systems and backup generators to ensure continuous operation in the event of equipment failure or power outages.

Most importantly, we are wine lovers, collectors, and consumers, just like our customers. We select wines that genuinely excite us and that we personally enjoy drinking and collecting.
