All persons purchasing and accepting shipments of wine must be at least 21 years of age or older, provide identification and sign for their deliveries at the time of receipt.
Shipping Your Order:
Our common carrier is UPS. We also provide temperature controlled shipping services for freight shipments only. Please contact us with questions about shipping freight.
European Wine Resource uses professional Styrofoam wine shipping materials for all shipments. These materials are also excellent insulators. Parcels of wine leave our facility chilled between 55 and 58 degrees, packed in Styrofoam containers. Overnight shipments in particular often maintain this temperature throughout the entire shipping process.
Wines cannot be shipped in their original containers unless shipping freight. Original wood cases or original containers must be shipped separately.
Shipping Wine During Extreme temperatures:
We do not recommend shipping wine during extreme temperatures or extreme weather. European Wine Resource cannot be held responsible for wines that become damaged from exposure to extreme temperatures or weather while in transit. Please be mindful of the weather before scheduling your shipments. Extreme temperatures can damage wine and affect its integrity and drinkability. Extreme temperatures can also cause cork movement and seepage. We always suggest that customers choose the fastest shipping method that fits their budget to minimize the possibility of damage while in transit. We do not suggest shipping wine during Summer months. European Wine Resource can hold customer purchases at their state-of-the-art temperature controlled facility for shipping at a later date, when temperatures are adequate for shipping wine.
European Wine Resource offers 1 year of free storage with every purchases! Thereafter we reserve the right to charge $2/month per 9L unit.

Shipping Insurance:
EWR offers insurance at a fee of 1% of the total value of the parcel for any shipment completed by common carrier. Shipping insurance is optional and covers breakage or loss by the carrier only. Shipping insurance does not cover damage from exposure to extreme temperatures.
In The Event of a Damaged Shipment that is Insured.
EWR will refund insured purchases only for the breakage of wine while in transit. EWR and our carriers will not refund shipments for any other types of damages, such as, the defacing of labels, the failure or damage to corks and capsules, spoilage, and all other forms of damage. If you receive wine that has been broken during shipping, do not contact your carrier, they will not issue refunds, please contact EWR directly within 24 hours of receiving the parcel.
Shipping Within the San Francisco Bay Area:
In most cases our customers will find the best method for local delivery will be by UPS Ground. Customers may also pick-up their orders from our location, by appointment only. Please phone us 24 hours in advance to schedule your pick-up.
Domestic Shipping Outside of California:
Shipping is available to many states within the USA, however due to individual state law, customers located outside of California should contact us to ensure our ability to ship to your State. Some States prohibit shipments of alcohol from out of State.
International Shipping:
Please contact us directly to discuss international shipping. Some Countries prohibit international shipments of alcohol. It is possible that foreign governments may require taxes and tariffs in order to release the shipment from customs. The customer is responsible for any fees associated with shipping, tariffs and taxes and any required paperwork or licenses necessary for clearance. European Wine Resource will not refund customers for seizures by customs or any costs associated with duties or taxes. Please contact your local government for details prior to ordering.
